2017/2018 Weekly Writing Workshops
Weekly Writing Workshops Weekly Writing Workshops are held during the school year, from September through January at Writerhouse, Thursday evenings from 6:30-8pm unless otherwise noted. Meetings are canceled due to weather with public school closings, and occasional field trips are scheduled throughout the year. Workshops begin in the fall with a kick-off writing workshop followed by weekly writing exercises, peer revision, and visiting authors. The Mirabella Prose and Poetry Contest
The Mirabella Prose and Poetry Contest will honor thirty student writers in a reading of their work. Please join us for a night of thoughtful, hopeful, and humorous writing at St. Anne's Belfield. Student readers are listed below. The Tupelo Press Teen Writing Center 2018 Calendar
Our writing workshops continue with a Christmas Party on December 20th, and carry through March 2019, ending a week before our Mirabella Prose and Poetry Contest during the Virginia Festival of the Book. We'll have an Open Mic in early April, and then give students the rest of the spring for AP exams and finals. Check the calendar for other events in the new year. We'll be posting additional activities in January.

Summer Memory Bank Workshop
The Memory Bank is more than just a writing workshop, it is a creative tool that can be brought to creative writing projects of any genre down the road. The goal of the Memory Bank is simple: to prove to the writer that their personal experiences and memories are more than enough creative material to beat any writer’s block. We will work through three phases of the workshop in order to unlock the potential hidden in our memories.
