The Tupelo Press Teen Writing Center is proud to present our third annual Crossroads V Award to Kiley Weeks at a special reading at Writerhouse today.We are grateful to Aimee Nezhukumatathil for selecting her from a fantastic group of submissions.
Great thanks go to The Secular Society for making this $500 award possible for the third, to the writerhouse for allowing us space to meet and hold our award ceremony, and the Virginia Arts of the Book Center for making space for our teens to create our anthology, and letterpress our cover!

Kiley Weeks: One of my favorite themes to write about is identity, especially the questions and feelings that result from the intersection and collision of cultures. I wrote this piece for my Writing for Change class at Tandem Friends School, where I am a senior. It was originally a simple object poem about porcelain that took on themes of heritage and Vietnamese culture that are very personal to me.
