Before we dive into Crossroads IV, let’s take a look back at a few pieces from Crossroads III. Here is a beautiful piece of poetry from Stella Sokolowki published in last year’s anthology. Thanks Stella!

Could it be Him?

Stella Sokolowski

When Apollo’s smile

Beams down upon

Mourning hours of dawn

We conglomerate – in grief

And ask ourselves

Could it be Him?

Could it be Him?

When liberty, she rear her head

And her sharp bell chime

With resounding assurance

We shout and chant

Could it be Him?

Could it be Him?

When adversity

We change our course

And circumspect

We can’t but wonder

Could it be Him?

Could it be Him?

And when sinners and saints

Intersect-under watchful gaze

And judgment strikes-

For will and purpose

We repeat with relenting tone

Could it be Him?

Could it be Him?

And when form

Is not fitting

For the written strictures

And unspoken formula

Subconscious questions

Could it be Him?

Could it be Him?

And when innocence

Does she purge

And burden she bear

As remittance

Our conclusion follows

Could it be Him?

Could it be Him?

And when massacre

Does ensue, and His divine strength

Does not present itself

We chatter in glee

Where must He be?

Did He not impede?

Could we succeed?

And confidence creeps on

Of apparent consent

And poisons justice, or reason

And then we tell

A beggar’s tale

And call subservience – gratitude

As what can be best descried as – blatantly –
