VFBThe Virginia Festival of the Book in collaboration with Sarah McGuire,  Creative Writing teacher at Western Albemarle High School, are bringing a “First Pages” panel for teens to the 2014 Festival.  We think this is a fabulous opportunity, and a powerful nod to the importance of community support for our young writers by a wonderful and storied local institution who also puts on a Prose and Poetry Contest (with a February 17th deadline, don’t miss it).

Are you a teen (13 to 18) who likes to write? Teen writers each submit one page to receive anonymous feedback from authors Tommy Hays, Andrew Auseon, Carrie Brown, Susann Cokal and Michael Sims. Submit one page to VABookTeenWriters@gmail.com by March 14 or bring one page with you.

A big thanks to Proal Heartwell and the Village School for hosting so many wonderful opportunities for young writers, including our teen panels this spring.
