Owen Zoll

heightless, boundless

I’m a junior at Monticello High School. This is a photograph of the trees behind where I live, taken on an early September weekday morning. It was still very foggy from the night before, and the sun was starting to peek out and illuminate the mist. The second I woke up and looked outside, I knew this moment was worth saving. Still half-asleep, I hurried downstairs, grabbed my film camera, captured a few pictures, then sat outside eating my breakfast. This image brings me back to that moment of sitting out on my porch, feeling the puff of wind, and hearing the windchime while watching the trees. They seem endless in this photo, extending far below the range of the camera. I hope it brings you there too.
